About Reclink Australia
Reclink Australia is a national not-for-profit organisation whose mission is to provide and promote sport and art programs for people experiencing disadvantage. We target some of the communities most vulnerable and isolated people, including people experiencing significant mental health challenges, disability, homelessness, substance abuse, culturally and linguistic diverse communities, correctional services and economic hardship. With over 270 member organisations nationally [75 member organisations in Victoria], we currently provide over 100,000 participant opportunities throughout Australia annually.
Position overview
Working closely with the State Manager, the Community Sports Coordinator will be responsible for establishing the Reclink model in the Frankston/Hastings area as part of the Reclink National Program. The Reclink National Program is an innovative social inclusion program utilising sport and recreation, coaching programs to improve the lives of people experiencing disadvantage, alcohol and drug addiction, homelessness and mental health problems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop, implement and coordinate the Reclink National Program in Frankston and Hastings
- Establish a formal Reclink network of member agencies in your location to assist in the development and roll out of programs
- Identify and recruit prospective member organisations and volunteers in Frankston and Hastings
- Work closely with identified key stakeholders in the development of your programs
- Establish a structured sporting program involving football, cricket, or other team sport
- Work in consultation and in co-ordination with key community stakeholders and service providers in government and community sectors
Key Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated understanding and experience of administrative support systems, innovative practice and high level of verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
- Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships within community networks
- Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously and constructively in a team setting with minimal supervision
- Be a self-starter, reliable and able to work independently, innovatively and respectfully with diverse individuals and groups
- High level of time management and organisational skills and capacity to work effectively within tight time constraints
- A positive National Police Check and Working with Children Check is mandatory
- Current drivers licence and own vehicle
