RWAV provides a no fee allied health and nursing recruitment service to all rural, regional and remote primary care organisations throughout Victoria. The list of Allied health disciplines that we can cover include; Audiology; Dentistry; Dietetics and Nutrition; Exercise Physiology; Occupational Therapy ; Optometry; Osteopathy Pharmacy; Radiation Therapy; Physiotherapy; Radiography; Podiatry; Sonography ;Psychology Social Work; Speech Pathology.

About the Role:

  • Full time, flexible hours available

This is a great opportunity for an autonomous and motivated Physiotherapist to build their existing skillset, showing initiative in their approach to delivering best practice patient care.

In this position you will be joining a team of general practitioners and allied health professionals including podiatrists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, diabetes educators, dietitian, health promotion team and counselling staff.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Respond appropriately to medical/health problems presented by patients including diagnosis, treatment and referral
  • Provide physiotherapy skills across the service area in conjunction with other team members including developing both individual support plans for patients and community wide promotions
  • Confidently undertaking direct patient contact, group work and provision of services to other health service providers
  • Effectively conducting initial needs assessments and treatment of patients presenting through the MBS requiring Physiotherapy intervention
  • Promote good health and wellbeing in the communities
  • Actively participate as part of an inter-disciplinary team

Essential Criteria:

  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy or equivalent
  • Registration with AHPRA, Physiotherapy Board of Australia and Medicare
  • High level of physiotherapist skills and creative approaches to patient care
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively with team members
  • Enthusiastic and empathetic approach to people in both one-to-one and group scenarios
  • Well-developed organisational and communication skills, able to function with tact and diplomacy
  • An awareness and sensitivity to the needs and understanding of staff, patients and general community
  • Demonstrated ability to provide and maintain a courteous and professional service to all individuals and groups at all times
  • A demonstrated understanding and commitment to the concept of health promotion, early intervention, community development and community health
  • Able to display sound organisational skills through efficient time management and professional responsibility
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise case load appropriately
  • Excellent presentation and writing skills
  • Current Victorian Driver’s License, Police Check and Working with Children’s Check
