You will provide high-quality professional reception coverage to ensure the provision of inclusive and culturally respectful professional services to the community in the areas of mental health, homelessness and family and domestic violence. You will provide reception duties and day to day administrative support across the business to meet the operational demands of the service. This will include welcoming people, staff, visitors, arranging vehicle and room bookings, providing information and managing queries in a confidential and highly professional manner.
You will uphold the values of Ruah and provide quality services within the scope of the position and associated delegations.
Who are we looking for?
It is expected that the successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Willingness and ability to work within and contribute to the vision, mission, core values and the guiding principles of the organisation.
- Completion of high school or TAFE Certificate III in Business Administration and/or experience as a receptionist and office administrator.
- Advanced computer skills in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to prioritise tasks on a daily basis.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- An empathetic non-judgemental attitude to people living with disadvantage.
- Ability to exercise sound judgement, confidentiality, sensitivity in the performance of duties.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and use initiative.
- Willingness to be flexible and undertake a range of administrative duties.
- Knowledge and understanding of diversity, gender and social inclusion, particularly Aboriginal culture.
Desired
- Minimum 2 years' experience working in an administrative/reception role, preferably within community services.
- A friendly and welcoming telephone manner with the ability to manage difficult and distressed caller.
- Demonstrated resilience, ability to work autonomously, multitask and to initiate, manage and prioritise own workload in line with set requirements and timeframes.
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills, with the ability to be flexible in the working environment and contribute positively to a productive, cooperative and friendly workplace.
- Previous work experience in a not for profit or community services organisation
