About the job

Ruah are seeking a Community Worker to join Street to Home on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Street to Home Program works with adults who are homeless, sleeping rough or who are at risk of becoming homeless. The program aims to assist Perth’s most vulnerable and marginalised individuals by providing direct support as well as linking clients to other local community supports. Clients of the Street to Home Program often have intersecting, complex issues that can include; mental health, AOD, financial hardship and domestic violence. 

The role is based at the Ruah Centre but requires working as a mobile service around the Perth Inner city area, providing support to clients. Working as a Community Worker involves strong case management skills, representing Ruah within the community and working within Ruah’s “no wrong door’ approach within the areas of housing, homelessness, family, domestic violence, justice and mental health..

Full time hours are 38 hours per week worked between Monday – Friday 7am – 7pm.

Who are we looking for?.

  • Relevant Tertiary Degree in a related discipline and/or relevant work experience (0-3 years) which demonstrates strengths in the criteria listed below.
  • Demonstrated understanding of complex issues facing people who experience chaotic life circumstances such as homelessness, AOD use, family/domestic violence and mental health issues.
  • Well-developed organisational skills including time management and setting priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a recovery and personal support model to achieve positive client outcomes.
  • Well-developed computer skills in the Microsoft office suite program and Client Care system.
