About the role
The Merchandising and Support Officer is responsible for the visual merchandising of all Op Shops across Victoria. They will also provide relief to shops’ Op Shop Managers during their leave or when the shop is short on volunteers.
Role duties & responsibilities
- Create exciting in-store floor plans that create customer engagement, highlight each op shop’s unique product offering, and drive sales.
- In conjunction with the leadership team identify stock issues and move transfer stock between stores on a weekly basis or as required.
- Produce window displays and lead special promotions display execution in-store.
- Educate the teams to maintain high visual merchandising standards in-store.
- Remain up to date with visual merchandising industry trends and implement in-store.
- Work closely with social media and marketing team and ensure high quality visual content is shared weekly.
- Learn, and be confident to use, the retail POS system, serve customers, and manage the day-to-day operations of the op shop to support managers as required.
- Provide support to the Op Shop Network Manager to build key corporate donation relationships by visiting our corporate donor’s warehouse to hand pick and sort stock for stores on a weekly or fortnightly basis as required.
What we are looking for from you
- Previous merchandising experience.
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.
- Exceptional time management and ability to prioritise and plan for effective territory coverage.
- Strong written & verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build and foster professional relationships.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Physical fitness to meet the demands of the position, including the ability to lift up to 15kgs unassisted.
Highly regarded
- Previous experience working with volunteers.
- Prior experience in an Op Shop environment will be highly regarded, although not essential.
Recruitment Requirements
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Willingness to undergo a National Police Check
