RSPCA Victoria has a fabulous opportunity for an experienced events and community fundraising specialist to join our team to promote and deliver our ambitious events program including the iconic Million Paws Walk and Cup Cake Day events. About the role

The Events & Community Fundraising Manager is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of community fundraising campaigns to grow income, increase engagement and raise awareness of both state-wide and national digital and in-person peer-to-peer events.

Role duties & responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the Events and Community Fundraising strategy and business plan to deliver the required performance outcomes in accordance with broader organisational goals within budget
  • Manage, lead, and develop a team of staff and volunteers to the highest levels of performance, engagement and job satisfaction to deliver the Events & Community Fundraising plan
  • Lead the delivery and performance of the RSPCA Victoria Events and Community Fundraising program, including promotion, resourcing, organisation and review of all event and program related activities to maximise their success and contribution to the organisations fundraising efforts
  • Lead national flagship campaigns such as Million Paws Walk, working with other RSPCA Community Fundraising Managers across the other RSPCA Member Societies to lead and execute inspiring campaigns
  • Explore new and innovative ways to increase interest in events and community fundraising, expand mass-participation events, and develop and evolve plans to achieve targets and maximise growth opportunities

What we are looking for from you

  • Previous experience in leading and developing high performing teams
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing events and community fundraising program including digital promotion and engagement
  • Outstanding verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and challenging work environment
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in a team environment
  • Sound knowledge of fundraising legislation, practices and philosophies of charitable giving
  • Ability to work on weekends and outside of standard business hours as required by individual events

Highly regarded

  • Tertiary qualification in Event Management or equivalent qualification and/or experience
  • Proficiency in fundraising CRM with knowledge of integration of fundraising platforms such as Fundraising and Campaign Monitor and Mailchimp is highly desirable

Recruitment Requirements

  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Willingness to undergo a National Police Check
  • Willingness to obtain an Employee Working with Children’s Check
