The purpose of Corporate Philanthropy Officer role is to acquire and retain funding from corporate and small businesses, building on the current corporate philanthropy program. Focusing on acquiring and maintaining relationships, this position will grow the RSPCA NSW network of new cash partners and sponsors for fundraising campaigns, events, and programs.
This role of Corporate Philanthropy Officer plays an integral role in ensuring the organisation has the funding it needs to continue preventing cruelty to animals and be financially sustainable, in accordance with RSPCA NSW’s strategic goals and imperatives.

About the Role
- Carry out National and NSW partnership contractual obligations, such as reporting and recognition (sometimes in connection to other RSPCA member societies in the country)
- Implement and develop bespoke relationship management and cultivation plans for corporate segments, such as cash or in-kind partnerships
- Acquire and retain funding for fundraising campaigns, events, programs and matching-gifts
- Work with other departments to identify potential sponsorship and partnership opportunities
- Field incoming charitable offers and requests from corporates
- Identify prospects & secure new partnerships through targeted solicitation
- Strong understanding of RSPCA NSW brand worth and values
- Develop suite of materials including partnership prospectus, proposals, etc
- Work closely with the Manager, Philanthropy to meet the specific financial KPIs and goals set out in the operational plan
- Regular reporting and analysis
- Participate in relevant RSPCA corporate events and functions
- Adherence to organisational prospect clearance procedures
About You
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant area, desirable
- Minimum three years’ experience in not-for-profit, fundraising, communications, marketing or equivalent environment
- Project management experience
- CRM – Salesforce, advantageous
- Confident, target driven sales and marketing professional with experience in fundraising, and relationship management
- Developing proposals, presentations and pitches
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Work effectively in a team environment.
- Established interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Attention to detail with analysis, problem-solving, and creative skills
- Excellent organisational skills, time-management and expectation management
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, whilst remaining on the task at hand
- Self-driven and results orientated
- Ability to work autonomously
- Commercial acumen
- Confident speaker and advocate in a corporate setting
