Animal Attendant - Coffs Harbour

Our Coffs Harbour Shelter is on the lookout for an experienced Animal Attendant to join their dedicated team on a casual basis. You will undertake a range of Animal Attendant responsibilities, ensuring a high standard of animal care at all times.

We are currently seeking casual staff, and as a casual, you must be available at short notice to cover a shift and be flexible with shift requirements.

About the Role

  • Perform animal care tasks such as cleaning cages/enclosures; medicating; feeding; exercising; assessing animals
  • Provide basic first aid to animals where required
  • Provide high level communication to managers and colleagues and that ensures all information is provided to required parties
  • Provide high level customer service to all stakeholders, including members of the public

About You

  • Certificate II Animal Handling or similar (essential)
  • Certified Microchip implanter (advantageous)
  • Previous animal handling experience
  • Previous experience providing customer service to a wide range of stakeholders
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team
  • NSW driver's license (unrestricted or green P's)
  • Resilience – the ability to bounce back from occasional setbacks
