The opportunity

Responsible to the Service Partners Team Manager, the Volunteer Support Officer delivers quality volunteer services that meet the needs of our clients in line with business requirements.

This is a part time 12-month fixed term position (.5 FTE).

This role involves the matching of volunteers with suitable roles, considering client eligibility, volunteer skills, location, and availability. Other important components of the position include assisting in the recruitment and training of volunteers and a range of administrative duties including data entry, maintaining volunteer and customer records and assembling training materials.

Your skills and expertise

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills with the ability to relate to persons of all ages, including those with a disability.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills, including the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Computer literacy, competent administrative and documentation skills.
  • Ability to assess and balance conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Strength in developing relationships and being understanding of the needs of people.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in CRM (Customer Relations Management Systems), Microsoft Office software applications and data entry.
  • Empathy for persons who are blind or vision impaired and the ability to relate to persons of all ages, abilities and of a cultural and linguistically diverse background.
  • You must have a valid Police Clearance, Working with Children's Check and NDIS Worker clearance or be willing to obtain these.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in Disability, Aged or Community Services sectors.
  • Vocational qualification in disability or community services - Certificate III in Individual Support specialising in disability or a Certificate IV in Disability.
  • A current qualification or experience delivering training to groups of up to 15 people.
