The opportunity

RSB is looking for a Technology Specialist to join our Technology Team in Client Services. You’ll absolutely need to enjoy working with people, as you’ll be providing advice and support about the best technology products and services for our clients.

You’ll need to know the products inside out, and be a great communicator, helping people of all ages and abilities, to make the most of technology. Although this is not purely a sales role, you will need to be able help clients get the right technology and understand the funding sources available to them.

It probably goes without saying that you’ll enjoy technology and working with our suppliers and internal RSB partners, as well, as there’s constantly new products and innovations coming online.

Your skills and expertise

We’re looking for someone with the right skills and expertise to join the team. You’ll have:

• Excellent communication skills, especially in being able to show clients how technology works and giving extra support to those who need it.
• The ability to co-design and contribute to Client Support Plans and Personal Goals through functional assessment, support, and review, promoting choice and control for our clients.
• The confidence to make sound recommendations to clients about the assistive technology products, computer software and technology which would enhance their lifestyle and meet their budgets.
• Great administration skills to ensure quality client records are gathered and maintained, and data is collected to allow for services to be improved.
• Research and analytical skills to scope current assistive technology software and hardware equipment, to meet the needs of clients.
• The ability to work independently, in a team, with clients and with technology providers.
• A certification or tertiary qualification in computing is desirable as is Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Knowledge of assistive technology and the ability to read or write Braille is desirable.
