As the bookkeeper reporting to the Business Administration Accountant, you will be required to exercise discretion, confidentiality and professionalism for a reputable and historic faith-based social justice organisation.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Accounts receivable and payable including credit cards
- Invoicing and other finance-related transnational tasks
- Preparation of all bank and credit card reconciliations
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and budgets
- Develop relationships to improve operating results and generate efficiencies
Skills and experienced required:
Essential:
- Proven understanding of current legislation relating to finance and accounting
- Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or a Certificate IV in accounting
- 5+ years relevant experience in accounting services including cash management and accounts payable/receivable
- Outstanding verbal and written communication and ability to effectively communicate and translate complex concepts to non-financial people
Desirable:
- Tertiary qualification in accounting or commerce
- Prior experience in working for not-for-profit or religious order
- Experienced or an understanding of Dynamics AX Software
- Experience in the financial management of a not-for-profit organisation
