As the bookkeeper reporting to the Business Administration Accountant, you will be required to exercise discretion, confidentiality and professionalism for a reputable and historic faith-based social justice organisation.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Accounts receivable and payable including credit cards
  • Invoicing and other finance-related transnational tasks
  • Preparation of all bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and budgets
  • Develop relationships to improve operating results and generate efficiencies

Skills and experienced required:

Essential:

  • Proven understanding of current legislation relating to finance and accounting
  • Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or a Certificate IV in accounting
  • 5+ years relevant experience in accounting services including cash management and accounts payable/receivable
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication and ability to effectively communicate and translate complex concepts to non-financial people

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualification in accounting or commerce
  • Prior experience in working for not-for-profit or religious order
  • Experienced or an understanding of Dynamics AX Software
  • Experience in the financial management of a not-for-profit organisation
