About the role
As an NDIS Intake and Support Officer, you will be the first point of contact for people looking to receive services through Rural Lifestyle Options Australia (RLOA) under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). In this key role, you will be responsible for building our participant base, coordinating the initial entry process for participants enquiring about our services and building key stakeholder relationships within the sector.
This is an autonomous role which requires regular travel within the South East Queensland region to meet and attract new NDIS participants. You will also be responsible for raising the profile of our organisation through following up referrals punctually, conveying key brand messages and by providing information about our supports and services to prospective participants.
In your role, you will always be supported by our dedicated team and will work closely with our NDIS Intake and Support Officer for the Gold Coast and Northern Rivers Region. Key responsibilities include:
- Proactively building and maintaining positive collaborative stakeholder relationships with other agencies, supports coordinators, plan managers, LAC's and NDIS planners;
- Proactively attracting new NDIS participants and referrals through community engagement and community networks;
- Acting as first point of contact for all enquires and referrals received by RLOA to undertake intake, support, information and referral of eligible NDIS participants;
- Working within the principles of the National Disability Insurance Scheme and relevant legislation;
- Ensuring all enquiries are responded to within required timeframes;
- Providing monthly reports which includes the number of new referrals, new partners engaged with and contacts made;
- Ensuring all participant records are up-to-date, with signed quotes, service agreements etc;
- Participating in meetings as required by the role;
- Ensuring all documentation is completed to meet relevant standards and audit requirements.
About you
- A tertiary qualification in Disability, Mental Health or Community Services or equivalent knowledge and experience;
- Willingness and ability to drive innovation and problem solve in an ambiguous environment;
- A thorough understanding of NDIS service offerings and guidelines, and the services offered by Rural Lifestyle Options Australia or the ability to rapidly acquire;
- Demonstrated experience in working autonomously;
- Current open drivers licence;
- Excellent customer service skills and strong communication skills with the ability to tailor communication to meet the needs of key stakeholders;
- Accurate report writing skills.
