Redfern Legal Centre works to redress inequalities in the legal system that adversely and disproportionately affect people experiencing vulnerability. The Centre pursues social change and law reform to reduce these inequalities.
This position will suit an enthusiastic and dynamic lawyer who enjoys working with people experiencing vulnerability and helping to address systemic issues.
The primary responsibility of the Family Law Solicitor is to provide specialised legal advice and casework to people who have experienced financial abuse in the area of family law, in particular property and financial disputes. The solicitor may supervise, train, and mentor volunteers to provide this service. The solicitor will also contribute to strategic policy and law reform work, test case litigation and present community legal education sessions.
