About the role

This role within our new Wombat ward will ensure clinical practice and delivery of care is consistent with the RCH and Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia standards. This is done by providing comprehensive, safe, evidence-based practice across a range of contexts, to facilitate optimal health outcomes for our patients. This an exciting opportunity to care for children admitted with Oncology and mixed Medical Specialty conditions, and to provide safe and effective care. We offer excellent professional development to enhance your nursing practice and conduct comprehensive and systematic nursing assessments to improve the quality of our nursing care provided.

This is a rewarding role which will see you involved with all aspects of nursing, including assessments, treatment, and delivery of great care.

  • Salary: $71,333.60 - $95,378.40 per annum (FTE) plus superannuation
  • Full Time / Part Time / Ongoing

What you'll achieve

  • Fulfil duty of care by practicing within scope of practice in accordance with Australian Nursing & Midwifery Council guidelines
  • Demonstrate analytical skills in assessing and evaluating health information
  • Participate in quality improvement activities
  • Plan nursing care in consultation with others (i.e. multidisciplinary health care team)

Your skills and experience

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) administered though the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing and professional development, as evidenced in a s Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record/Profession at Practice Portfolio
  • Previous experience in adolescent, oncology care desirable
