RCH is an effective advocate for patients and their families with a particular focus on vulnerable children and increasingly, mental health in young people. The hospital also supports many health promotion and prevention programs. The Hospital has more than 6,000 staff, a budget of $850M, 12 wards and 350 beds. Annually, the RCH has 300,000+ Specialist Clinic appointments, 90,000+ Emergency Department presentations and 20,000 elective surgeries.

An exciting full time, ongoing opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Operations Manager to join the Paediatric Infant Perinatal Emergency Retrieval (PIPER) team.
PIPER is one of the world’s busiest retrieval services providing emergency advice and retrieval across Victoria and southern NSW. The BOM is a member of the PIPER Leadership group and has responsibilities across Finance and all non-clinical administrative and operational areas of the service.
The role interacts with multiple internal and external partners including Ambulance Victoria and requires well developed business and financial skills, a collaborative and engaging communication style and capacity to prioritise and negotiate to achieve the best outcomes. The BOM is the main link between our communication system provider and PIPER, and as such a reasonable level of expertise and confidence in the area of information and communication technology would be advantageous.
