Currently, Family Relationship Centres provide Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) Services to help separating parents discuss care arrangements with the intent of reaching agreements in the best interests of their children. Services will also be provided post July to assist separating families with Property and Financial Matters.
During the Intake and Assessment Session a thorough screening is done to determine if FDR is appropriate. Information and referrals are offered to families during these sessions.
Throughout the FDR process for parenting, a child focussed approach is maintained and services are delivered to families at all stages of life, with specific sensitivity to cultural needs. There is a strong focus on strengthening family relationships and assisting with relationship difficulties by increasing parental understanding of the impact conflict has on children and offering support in the challenges and adjustments during or after separation.
As an initiative of the Federal Government, Family Relationship Centres offer FDR for disputes over parenting and property matters, enabling people to participate in negotiated outcomes and create an alternate option to procedures in the Family Court.
Relationships Australia is seeking to employ an accredited and experienced Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner in a clinical position at the Perth Family Relationship Centre.
This is a part time position offering 4 days of employment per week on a permanent basis. The hours will also include non-standard business hours.
It is essential for the applicant to have current accreditation as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner with experience in family dispute resolution practice in both parenting and property mediation.
