A current vacancy exists in the Peel Elder Relationship and Support Service in Mandurah and we invite applications for the position of Mediator / Counsellor. 

The Peel Elder Relationship and Support Service is a case management and mediation service, based in Mandurah and offering outreach to the Peel Region. The practitioners in this program work with the older person, and their family as a whole, to create agreements around ageing-related family relationship issues (including financial and living arrangements).  

Essentials:

• Tertiary qualifications in Counselling, Psychology or Social Work
• Completion of mediation Training through a recognised training organisation
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Proven ability to adhere to clinical and ethical work standards
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to be an effective communicator
• Experience in working with trauma
• Experience in case management and counselling
• Ability to relate to a wide variety of people from diverse backgrounds, including cultural sensitivity and cross-cultural communication
• Demonstrated dedication to the organisation’s mission. 

Desirable:

• Experience in working with older people. 

Our staff are supported through regular professional supervision and generous ongoing professional development.

The position is:

• A permanent part-time position
• Between 2 and 4 days per week
• Based in Mandurah providing outreach to the Peel Region.
