This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, experienced trauma informed counsellor to join Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV). RAV is a secular, community-based, not-for-profit organisation with no religious affiliations who have been providing services to the Victorian community for over 70 years. Our vision is for “positive, respectful, safe and fulfilling relationships for all Australians”. RAV provides services from centres across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.
Reporting to the Centre Manager, this role sits in a specialist team of trauma informed counsellors, offering a combination of counselling and therapeutic case management to clients living with the impacts of complex trauma. The primary responsibilities include providing practical support and counselling to people engaging with the National Redress Scheme, and to people affected by forced adoption.
Using therapeutic collaborative, strengths-based and trauma-informed interventions, you will be providing trauma-informed counselling and emotional support, psychoeducation around the impacts of trauma and skill building, therapeutic case management and advice, advocacy and support.
This role is located at 379 Collins Street, Melbourne and is part-time, Monday to Thursday, for a fixed term of 12 months covering parental leave.
