Job Description

We are seeking an Education Support Officer to join our Standards Unit on a Full-Time contract.

The Education Support Officer - Specialties position will be responsible for assisting the Manager, Specialties, to develop projects and programs that support education and training in emerging sub-specialty and specialty areas of practice to assure the delivery of best practice within a contemporary medical education framework. This position will be responsible for supporting committees within a clinical governance framework and contributing to key documents that define the member journey for sub-specialty and specialty areas of practice; instituting necessary governance and regulatory measures to enable the delivery of a high-quality education and training programs to our members.

The Education Support Officer - Specialties duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Project management and analytical support for specialty projects, specifically in the development of specialist medical education programs.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders through various working groups and committees and provide timely advice and support to internal and external stakeholders on issues relating to specialty practice.
  • Provide secretariat support tor relevant committees including conjoint committee/s, reference groups, and working groups.
  • Resolve complex problems requiring information from multiple sources or advanced knowledge in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Ensure activities and initiatives meet regulatory requirements, as required.
  • Manage all work within RANZCR’s clinical governance processes.
  • Flexibly manage activities related to the role, including planning for out-of-hours’ work and intra/interstate travel.
  • Provide in-kind secretariat support for related committees to ensure complimentary work programs that collectively work towards clinical excellence and education.
  • Engage in a culture within the Standards Unit that assures high quality member engagement, inspiring member involvement in College activities
  • Facilitate alignment of work content and workflow within, and between business units, to enhance communication and program outcomes.
  • Proactively seek and share information with colleagues across the organisation and externally.
  • Respond to enquiries requiring an understanding of the organisation and RANZCR policies and procedures. Take ownership of enquiries by providing explanations and instructions. Ensure enquiries are addressed and resolved.

You will need to:

  • Have tertiary qualifications in education or similar and/or relevant work experience.
  • Have demonstrated experience in program design and management.
  • Have proven success in delivering education projects with a critical eye for detail and process.
  • Possess the ability to problem solve, analyse, critically appraise, and interpret complex information.
  • Have high level communication skills, including writing policies, project reports, agendas and minutes.
  • Be capable and have capacity to set and manage competing priorities in a high activity environment and be responsive to a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Be highly organised and methodical with strong attention to detail, but still comfortable working in ambiguous, complex and agile environments.
  • Demonstrate your commitment to high levels of customer service.
  • Posses the ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment; to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders at various levels.
  • Be resourceful and motivated, able to take initiative.
  • Have experience working with committees within a clinical governance framework.
  • Have intermediate Microsoft Office application skills.
  • Understand MS project or similar project application (desirable).
  • Be experienced working in the education sector, in a not for profit, membership-based organisation and the health care field (desirable).
  • Understand the Australian and/or New Zealand health systems and medical workforce is desirable.
