The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) is the only college accredited to train ophthalmologists for Australia and New Zealand. We are a membership organisation, and a not-for-profit, with a focus on lifelong education and standard setting. RANZCO is centrally located in Surry Hills with a staff complement of 36 staff.

The role will support learning delivery for RANZCO’s Vocational Training Program (VTP).

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Developing and enhancing effective working relationships between RANZCO and its trainees, Fellows, and other stakeholders in designated training networks.
  • Providing expert advice to Network Qualifications and Education Committee (QEC) Chairs, Directors of Training (DOTs), Term Supervisors, Clinical Tutors and Trainees on requirements, policies, processes, and systems to support effective delivery of the VTP.
  • Providing expert administrative support for RANZCO education committees.
  • Explaining and promoting changes to the VTP to trainees, Fellows, and other stakeholders in designated training networks.
  • Managing trainees’ induction into the VTP.
  • Organising the annual face to face induction program (Eye Camp).
  • Managing Term Supervisors’ and Clinical Tutors’ non-compliance with role requirements (e.g., facilitating supportive learning environments, training requirements).
  • Reviewing and updating policies relevant to learning delivery.
  • Working collaboratively with Policy and Advocacy Team to develop and implement RANZCO’s workforce strategy.
  • Striving to provide constructive and effective experiences when trainees, Fellows, and Stakeholders interact with RANZCO.

EXPERIENCE

The Education team is looking to recruit a person with a degree in Education, IT or Business and/or relevant demonstrated workplace experience.

The ideal candidate will have senior administration experience:

  • Supporting the operationalisation, implementation and delivery of educational change
  • Providing expert advice to office holders and trainees/students on requirements, policies, processes, and systems to support effective delivery of education programs
  • Providing administrative support to committees
  • Automating administrative processes

FURTHER DETAILS

RANZCO is located opposite Central Station in Surry Hills, Sydney. The College has a fully flexible/hybrid work practice with staff working remotely from home (supplied with suitable technology) and attending the office when required for team and other collaborative activities.
