Duties/Abilities

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Services & Partnerships (QPWS&P) invite applications from suitable applicants to join their Cairns based Joint Management team as a Senior Project Officer (Indigenous Identified). This is a temporary role that will span two (2) years in duration, and while Cairns based the location can be flexible within the Northern Region. This vital role will coordinate and manage the operations of a new Cultural Heritage Team within the Joint Management Framework for managing National parks (Cape York Peninsula Aboriginal Land - CYPAL). The successful candidate will be developing and implementing cultural heritage initiatives and strategies across both Terrestrial and Marine areas on CYPAL parks. Travel to other locations will be required regularly, including extensive overnight travel in the Cape York area and driving 4WDs / camping out as required.
