NDIS Support Coordinator - South Brisbane

Parent to Parent Association QLD inc

Celebrating 21 years, P2P has been providing people with disabilities and their families with support long before the NDIS. Started by parents for parents, we have evolved into a respected independent organisation with a reputation for professionalism and understanding through the lived experience of our board, team, and service providers in the community. We have navigated many people through many changes in funding programs, and we are now doing the same for the NDIS in Queensland. Grassroots at heart, we are also visionary with our projects and future and are also currently funded locally and nationally to deliver innovation and collaboration in the sector.

We are looking for a dynamic caring professional, wanting to make their next leap as an NDIS support coordinator. You will be working autonomously in your home based office, and working with another local coordinator and community development facilitator. You'll also work remotely as part of the wider P2P team and with the administration centre based on the Sunshine Coast.

Skills/Experience

  • Compassion, understanding, and patience while being solution focused and able to network with service providers to provide great outcomes for people.
  • You understand a person has autonomy over their life and goals and want to assist with this, with creativity and innovation, and without judgement.
  • An understanding of community development principles
  • Excellent administration skills and the ability to interpret information guides, processes, and policy documents.
  • Ability to assess risk and apply mitigation strategies.
  • Established conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work on your own and as a team.
  • Able to adapt to changes in process and proactively contribute to improve the way we work.
  • You can budget like a boss.
  • You have worked in either a coordination or case management role before, and want a challenge as well as a creative outlet. You understand case notes and report writing are a necessary evil and so you do them well.
  • You know the NDIS, the price guide and have your own tales of woe from previous battles with the NDIS portal.
  • Technology doesn't freak you out, we work in the cloud with CRM and online collaboration tools. Training is provided.
  • You will have a favourite podcast. Travel and a lot of it between meetings is a core part of the job.

Qualifications

A minimum diploma of community services work is required. Tertiary qualifications with focus on development across the lifespan theories and frameworks for working with people with complex factors in their lives preferred.

About the Role

You will know what COS is (double points if you can name the tune I have in my head when I wrote that). This should be demonstrable through your experience, cover letter and at interview.

  • We have flexibility of part time/full time for the right person
  • Are an employer of choice
  • The role is set at SACS award level 4.1 (TPEO) with salary sacrifice available
  • We have an immediate start available with an established full caseload of people we support
