Position Summary

The Community Engagement and Venue Manager will lead and manage the daily running of a multi-purpose community facility and events space.

The role involves a high level of relationship management, requiring a creative, informative and social approach to engaging with community members, resident organisations, and corporate partners.

This is a full-time position that reports to the General Manager. They are responsible for ensuring an exceptional experience for our diverse communities including sales, bookings, facilities, and service delivery. They are also responsible for some event production and partnership development.

Reports to: General Manager
Direct reports: Front of House, Contractors

Award: Amusement, Events and Recreation Award
Remuneration: $60,000 p.a. plus superannuation
Superannuation Contribution: 9.5%

Responsibilities

In order of priority, the Community Engagement and Venue Manager is responsible for:

  • Building cultural and community engagement
  • Providing a supportive, welcoming and inclusive environment
  • Curating and supporting diverse and engaged office residents
  • Securing and managing new venue bookings
  • Conducting site visits and venue inductions
  • Event production and service delivery
  • Managing day to day requests from office tenants and partners
  • Be informed about our residents and their business/projects
  • Manage and implement creative programming
  • Ensuring the venue facilities are maintained
  • Facilitate the provision of hospitality services

Shared Responsibilities

Key Attributes

The Community Engagement and Venue Manager is self motivated, people centric, and an excellent communicator. They will take initiative in their responsibilities and maintain an approach of continuous improvement and collaboration.

They will also have a demonstrated engagement with, and understanding of, the creative and performing industries and their audiences. An understanding of the not-for-profit and charity sector is also highly desirable for this role, as well as a passion and commitment to our charitable purpose of advancing culture.

You will be motivated to plan and produce interactive experiences for all stakeholders and manage booking enquiries, whilst ensuring the venue is welcoming, engaging, well-maintained, multi-functional, and safe.

Required Skills and Certifications

  • Tertiary qualification in venue management, event production, or similar, or 2 years experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated experience in community engagement
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and creating social events or community programs
  • Demonstrated experience in project management
  • Demonstrated experience in audience development
  • Demonstrated experience in teamwork and client collaboration

Non Essential, Desirable Skills and Certifications

  • RSA
  • Drivers Licence
  • First Aid Certification
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of audio visual equipment
  • Demonstrated experience in overseeing venue maintenance
  • Demonstrated experience in the not-for-profit sector
  • Demonstrated experience in the creative and performing arts industries
  • Knowledge and understanding of WH&S and compliance requirements
  • Completion of Cultural Competency and/or other Diversity education programs
  • Established connections within the local community
