About the role

To lead and manage the daily running of a multi-purpose community facility and events space. The role involves a high level of relationship management, requiring the use of a fun, creative, informative and social approach to engaging with community members, resident organisations in a co-working environment, and corporate partners. The successful candidate will be motivated to plan and produce interactive experiences for all stakeholders and manage booking enquiries, whilst ensuring facilities are maintained and secure. The role may at times develop into event management, securing sponsorships, creative production and project management.

Employment Type

Part-time / Full-time: 30-38 hours per week
Regular days Tuesday-Saturday, some nights.

$28/hour + super and entitlements

Report to: Development Manager and Senior Management Team

Experience & Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage and implement creative programming
  • Manage and implement community activities
  • Engage diverse communities to participate in the centre's activities
  • Socialise and network with community members and stakeholders
  • Be informed about our residents and their business/projects
  • Attend local community events in the area to build community and stakeholder relations
  • Manage the venue and its daily operations
  • Implement and evaluate venue logistics
  • Manage resident organisations - new enquiries and liaising with current residents
  • Administrative tasks related to events, bookings and residents
  • Roster staff according to booking requirements
  • Collecting and recording quantitative and qualitative KPI data, and generating reports as required.
  • Enforce, monitor, evaluate and report Workplace Health & Safety procedures
  • Manage compliance with relevant State, Federal and Council legislation, and 107's Plan of Management
  • Collaborate with Senior Management to develop strategic partnerships and sponsorships
  • Collaborate with the Finance Officer to prepare budgets, manage and monitor financial targets

107 Projects is a creative community organisation advancing culture in Sydney. 107 promotes, plans, presents and produces arts and cultural community development initiatives. We connect the arts, education and business to make social change and encourage people to live creatively. Our services include operating two facilities in Redfern and Green Square, public art activations, placemaking and creative projects.

Essential Criteria

  • Experience in a community engagement role of more than 2 years that involved working with diverse communities
  • Experience in planning and creating social events or community programs
  • Experience in project management, client management or arts administration of more than 2 years
  • Experience in facilities management, venue operations and managing events
  • Experience in establishing and managing partnerships, sponsorships and liaising with external community relationships
  • Experience in leading projects individually and within a team to achieve set business activity objectives
  • Experience in creating and managing budgets
  • An understanding of accounting software and excel
  • An understanding of LGA and State policies and regulations
  • Knowledge and understanding of WH&S and compliance requirements

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in using Google Docs & Calendar
  • Experience using Xero accounting software
  • Established networks in Creative Industries
  • Active with own creative practice or an interest in arts and culture
  • Tertiary education or equivalent level workplace training qualifications
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate
  • Intermediate technical skills, experience using audio and visual equipment, and basic venue maitenance
  • Experience working within a Not-For-Profit
  • First Aid Certification
  • Drivers Licence
