About you

As the Manager, Injury Management, your role will lead and manage workers compensation policies and claims, manage injuries and partner with the business and external agencies. The role is responsible for leading a national team of experienced Injury Management and Return to Work Coordinators in undertaking complex case management, case reviews, driving continuous improvement of relevant policies, procedures, and providing accurate and consistent advice. You will improve injury management and return to work outcomes for the organisation.

The successful candidate will be proactive with communication and engagement skills. This position is perfect for an experienced injury management leader who thrives in a dynamic environment - being in a position of responsibility with the ability to lead and influence change.

About the role

Permanent, Full time. Salary to be negotiated with the successful candidate.

This role provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional from the workers compensation and injury management sector to make their mark in the not-for-profit sector. Reporting to the Head of Safety and Wellbeing, the Manager - Injury Management will lead a geographically dispersed team nationally to ensure the delivery of an innovative, best practice and supportive injury management program to the organisation.

This position will be based at one of our corporate office locations in Victoria (Sunshine or Moonee Ponds), Tasmania (Hobart or Launceston), or NSW (Bella Vista or Islington).

What’s essential

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or formal qualification in Case Management (Personal Injury), Human Resources or Workplace Health and Safety or extensive relevant experience
  • Recognised Return to Work Coordinator qualification.
  • Considerable experience in a people leadership position in the field of Injury Management/Occupational Rehabilitation/WorkCover within a large complex organisation.
  • Expert understanding including legislative requirements of Workers Compensation in all states and territories.
  • The ability to travel to provide support as required
    Desirable but not essential
  • Experience working in a not for profit or social purpose setting.
  • Experience working within the disability or community services sector.
