Where you’ll be working

The division is responsible for supporting the department's implementation of the Victorian government’s commitments to self-determination and Closing the Gap, responding to the Yoorrook Justice Commission, leading preparations for treaty readiness and negotiations, and delivering culturally safe services. It works to elevate the voice of Aboriginal communities through engagement across the state and to monitor its overall performance with community.

The Aboriginal Truth and Treaty Branch brings together the departmental priorities of truth-telling through the Yoorrook Justice Commission and Treaty. It is responsible for preparing the department for both priorities, in alignment with the principles of the Yoorrook Justice Commissions inquiry and the legislated Treaty Elements.

About the role
