About the Opportunity

The Parenting Research Centre (PRC) now has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resource Manager to join the organisation on a part time basis (.6-.8). This varied and exciting role has true flexibility to work a range of hours over 3-5 days and the option for hybrid work arrangements. The role is a standalone role and is a fixed term replacement, available for approximately 6 months.

Reporting to the Director, Operations, you will oversee and administer all facets of the HR function and employee lifecycle. The role will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing HR policies, processes, systems and programs and providing support and advice to the leadership team and broader organisation on HR related matters such as employee relations, workforce planning, recruitment and development.

Specifically, some of your key duties will include:

  • Provide informed expert human resources advice to managers and staff regarding all facets of HR and the employee lifecycle including recruitment, performance management, employee relations, employee compensation, conditions & benefits and workplace health, safety & wellbeing
  • Provide interpretation and advice on employment legislation, policies and procedures and ensure governance and compliance
  • Manage the talent acquisition process, including recruitment, selection, and onboarding activities
  • Quarterly and ad hoc reporting including recruitment, retention and attrition information and other key metrics, insights and trend analysis
  • Lead the planning and coordination of talent management strategies and initiatives

About You

The successful applicant will be an HR generalist, with a minimum Bachelor level degree in Human Resources, or related tertiary qualifications combined with 5 years + HR experience. You'll understand the structure of different HR strategies and systems and have a comprehensive understanding of HR related legislation and best practice HR knowledge. Your experience in a similar role will be the key to your success, with knowledge of the not-for-profit industry viewed as highly advantageous.

You'll be working with a multidisciplinary team, so you'll require excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to enable you to develop effective working relationships with all staff, as well as with external stakeholders. This role will suit an analytical, strategic and highly organised person, who can adapt their knowledge to new situations, and is looking to work with an organisation that makes a real difference. Furthermore, you'll need to be adaptable and forward-thinking and possess an ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively.
