ABOUT PWDA

People with Disability Australia (PWDA) is the peak body for people with disability and is made up of, led and governed by people with disability. It is a national disability rights, information, advocacy, and representative organisation.

PWDA was founded in 1981 and has a vision of a socially just, inclusive, and accessible community, in which the human rights, belonging, contribution, potential and diversity of all people with disability are recognised, respected, and celebrated with pride.

PWDA is led by a Board of Directors elected through our membership base of people with disability from across Australia. Many of our staff are also people with disability.

We are a designated Disabled Persons’ Organisation with a cross disability focus and are a not for profit, non-government organisation.

ABOUT THE ROLE

PWDA is looking for a dynamic, innovative, and highly organised Executive Officer to support the CEO and Deputy CEO, to enable them to focus on core business matters and external stakeholder engagement by providing high-level administrative and operational advice and support and contributing to the development of stakeholder relationships.

The Executive Officer has primary responsibility for PWDA’s Board of Directors and acts as the key organisational contact point for board members.

This role also provides operational support to the Senior Management team as required.

ABOUT YOU

You are exceptionally organised and proactive, with high level experience in managing senior executives, and well-developed intuition to anticipate their needs.

You will also bring:

  • 5 years’ experience working in a similar role, with demonstrated experience working with boards and executive level managers
  • An energetic work style focussed on delivery through sound prioritisation skills and commitment to deadlines
  • Demonstrated high level customer service skills
  • Demonstrated high calibre organisational skills and superior attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate simply and effectively, both verbal and written, with diverse range of stakeholders at all levels
  • Advanced understanding of Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment with an enthusiastic approach
  • A high level of initiative and the ability to think quickly on your feet

REMUNERATION AND BENEFITS

Award Classification: Social, Community, Home Care & Disability Services (SCHADS) Award 2010, plus 11% super.

PWDA pays above-award rates as per our Enterprise Bargaining Agreement.

Fringe Benefits Tax benefits provide you with the option to salary package up to $15,900.

PWDA gifts an additional three days of holiday leave during the Christmas/New Year shut down period, as well as additional personal leave days, above the National Employment Standards, to enhance staff health and wellbeing.
