The Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA) is the national peak body representing Australia’s 31,000 pharmacists working in all sectors and across all locations in Australia. We are now seeking to appoint an experienced and qualified Financial Accountant to work as part of our Operations team in Canberra, ACT.

Applicants for the position should possess strong technical skills and the ability to focus on a variety of tasks including:

• Preparation of month end reports
• Preparation of month end reconciliations and journals
• Calculating and reporting taxation liabilities
• Debt collection including the preparation of statements
• Preparation of budget templates and reports
• Assisting the Finance Manager and COO as required.

To be successful in this role, you must be able to address the following selection criteria:

• Possess tertiary qualifications in Accounting;
• CA or CPA qualified with previous experience in a financial accounting role;
• Excellent knowledge of statutory requirements such as those applicable under Corporations Law, various Taxation Acts, and Australian Accounting Standards;
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the capacity to build and maintain strong relationships and credibility with staff and senior managers across a national organisation;
• Able to manage competing priorities and work to tight timelines whilst also maintaining a client focused approach;
• A high level of computer literacy including experience in computerised accounting packages and advanced skills in Word and Excel.
