Public Outreach has an exciting and enviable opportunity in our Client Accounts Management team!

This key operational position reports to the Head of Client Services and is responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of clients, and for ensuring all partnerships receive high quality account management. Furthermore, this position requires supporting the Head of Client Services in successfully providing account management to the entire client portfolio of Public Outreach Australia and New Zealand.

We have been fundraising for Australia’s and the world’s most reputable international aid, medical, disability support, environmental and advocacy organisations for over 10 years. We specialise in ethical, compassionate and engaging interactions that result in high quality monthly donations as well as strong, engaged communities. Since 2007 we have raised over $500 million for our charity partners!

Permanent full time position with salary starting at $75,000, based on experience.

The Job

  • Assist in securing and reaching agreements with charities and not-for-profit organisations
  • Research and identify client prospects, including further opportunities with current clients
  • Quickly and effectively respond to new client leads
  • Prepare and present high quality business proposals and presentations
  • Assist in negotiating and securing agreements with potential clients
  • Ensure that agreements are prepared for all business secured, ensuring that deadlines and financial agreements are confirmed
  • Develop and maintain relationships and represent Public Outreach at external meetings/conferences/receptions/client events
  • Travel to visit client prospects on a regular basis across Australia and New Zealand

Qualities and Qualifications

  • Strong project management skills with 2-5 years of experience with either a fundraising agency or an NGO, or both
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, work independently and maintain successful professional relationships across distance
  • Experience in setting expectations both internally and externally
  • Practical knowledge of face-to-face and telephone fundraising, or a willingness and ability to develop an in-depth understanding of the Individual Giving product area
  • A highly proactive approach with exceptional organisational, interpersonal and planning skills
  • A working knowledge of the direct marketing sector
  • Be flexible and patient, able to easily adapt to new systems and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve
  • Strong ability to influence others and effectively manage conflict
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to effectively coordinate multiple tasks and adhere to deadlines
  • Advanced computer skills (Word processing, Excel)
  • Good team player
  • Willingness to travel
