The Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) is a peak body for the counselling and psychotherapy profession in Australia. PACFA is a non-profit federation, made up of individual members, Branches and Colleges and Member Associations.

PACFA’s mission is to advance the counselling and psychotherapy profession and to benefit members of the community who seek the services of counsellors and psychotherapists. A key role of the organisation is to provide services for members of PACFA, including providing professional development activities and conferences.

PACFA is seeking a Professional Development (PD) Coordinator to organise Professional Development events and the bi-annual conference for the members of the counselling and psychotherapy profession.

The position of Professional Development Coordinator will be primarily responsible for the development and delivery of PACFA’s Professional Development (PD) activities. This includes coordinating the bi-annual conference, supporting PACFA Colleges and Branches to create and deliver PD opportunities and administering existing PACFA PD events.

To be successful in this position you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience dealing with a diverse range of stakeholders. You will also need to have very high level organisational and administrative skills and great attention to detail.

This role requires a high level of autonomy but is expected to assist colleagues in a small team environment. You will preferably have experience organising and administering events and or conferences and have qualifications in either administration or event management. Knowledge of the psychotherapy and counselling profession and/or experience in the not-for-profit sector would be an advantage.
