At Oxfam Australia, we believe all lives are equal and no-one should live in poverty. We are a member of Oxfam International, a global confederation working with partners and local communities in 87 countries.
Would you like to join this global movement of people working together to eliminate the inequalities that keep people in poverty?
As part of the Programs team, you will use your skills, qualifications, lived experience and initiative to tackle inequality and fight poverty. Yes, you read that right, lived experience and initiative, because it’s not all about the key selection criteria.
Research shows that women will only apply for a job if they meet 100% of the selection criteria, while men will apply if they meet an average of 60%. We understand that life teaches us so much, so if you don’t meet all the criteria but just know that you have what it takes, then please apply.
This role is pivotal in overseeing the delivery of Oxfam Australia’s strategy, particularly as it relates to partnering with Oxfam’s country and regional offices to implement impactful international development and humanitarian programs. As a key agency leader, the HoIPM facilitates cross-agency collaboration to ensure Oxfam Australia aligns its overseas program investments to agency priorities, diversifies income, and maximises impact. The role leads a dynamic team of international development practitioners, supported by the Head of Grant Management, that oversee high-quality development and humanitarian programming that adhere to industry standards. The HoIPM is an essential member of the Program Leadership Team, responsible for setting strategic direction, solving operational challenges, driving organisational improvements, and building a strengths-based and inclusive culture. The role works closely with the Head of Humanitarian and Head of Program Development and Effectiveness in particular, thus ensuring Oxfam Australia delivers on being a strategic, values-driven and impact focused organisation.
