Your new team

Orygen Specialist Programs (OSP), a program of The Royal Melbourne Hospital, provides mental health services to young people aged 15-25 (soon to be 12-25) and their families/carers in Melbourne's northwest and western suburbs.

The Bipolar sub-team forms part of our Youth Mood Clinic (YMC) and aims to improve access to early, effective evidence-based care for young people with Bipolar Disorders with or without a range of co-morbid mental health issues.

Your new role:

  • Develop, deliver and evaluate group and individual interventions in collaboration with multidisciplinary team
  • Support young people accessing YMC Bipolar services and the MOST platform
  • Develop functional recovery and life-skill activities and relationship building activities
  • Provide inclusive and sensitive practice to young people and their families/carers from Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander, CALD and LGBTQIA backgrounds

About you:

  • Lived experience of accessing youth mental health services and ability to share experiences in a recovery focused way
  • Experience in delivering peer work in mental health, ideally in a youth-specific setting
  • Passion, energy and determination to make a difference to the health outcomes for young people
  • Qualifications/training in mental health (desirable but not required)
  • Lived experience of Bipolar Disorder (desirable but not required)
