Orygen Specialist Program provides mental health services to young people aged 15-25 and their families/carers in Melbourne's northwest and western suburbs.

Our Community Development team aims to build community capacity to identify and respond to mental ill-health and improve collaboration and inter-agency care.

The Putting Families First (PFF) program is a joint initiative between the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing, and the Department of Justice and Community Safety.

Your new role:

You will be part of an innovative, interagency and interdisciplinary team who work together to improve outcomes for families/carers in contact with the child welfare and justice systems. You will:

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary and interagency team to plan and assess families' needs
  • Provide mental health consultation to family practitioners
  • Provide primary consultation and assessment to young people aged 12-25 years
  • Support engagement with further mental healthcare for young people and their families/carers
  • Develop processes and supports to ensure mental health needs are addressed through the Putting Families First team

About you:

  • Relevant qualification in Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Clinical Psychology or Registered Psychiatric Nurse
  • Comprehensive experience in clinical practice within the mental health field, working directly with young people and families, in multidisciplinary teams
  • Previous experience in provision of supervision and leadership
  • You have an interest and commitment to work with marginalised communities and developing partnerships with other services and agencies
