About the role

This position will be responsible for providing direct care and supervision of children with a disability aged 10-18 years and to supervise the day to day activities of Anson St OSHC staff and clients while also supporting the Everyday Support Worker with administration and support to residents in group homes. This includes:

  • Planning and providing a safe and enjoyable OSHC program for young people aged 10-18 years that meets NDIS standards including sport, recreation, homework, quiet time, literacy and computer skills
  • Supervising and providing administration support to Everyday Support staff and providing everyday support for adults in residential care when required
  • Effectively supervising staff to work as a team and provide a safe and enjoyable OSHC space
  • Reporting any “child at risk indicators” to the Coordinator if observed and reporting to the relevant agencies in compliance with mandatory reporting guidelines
  • Assisting in the maintenance of a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness at the service
  • Developing a positive relationship with, and encourage communication between families and staff

So what do you need?

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Demonstrated experience planning service delivery and supervising staff in a disability service setting
  • Demonstrated experience supporting and caring for people with a broad range of support needs relating to disability
  • Practical knowledge of the NDIS funding and planning
  • Certificate IV in Disability or Individual Support (or willingness to upgrade to this qualification)
  • Current Provide First Aid Certificate
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence
  • Ability to complete a satisfactory criminal records check
  • Current NSW Working With Children Check

Desirable:

  • Certificate IV in Out of School Hours Care
