In this part-time role you will provide leadership, strategic direction, external relationship management, operational and financial management of our growing food charity. This role offers:

ABOUT OPEN TABLE

Open Table is an independent not-for-profit organisation that shares free food with the community utilising surplus food in order to reduce food insecurity and food waste. Specifically, our mission is to:

  • Provide consistent and reliable access to healthy food for people experiencing disadvantage
  • Transform produce that would have otherwise gone to waste into free healthy food to share
  • Connect diverse groups through inclusive community food projects
  • Collaborate with volunteers and local community partners
  • Empower others to reduce their food waste through education programs and events

About the role

The CEO is responsible for the organisation of Open Table on behalf of the Board. The purpose of the position is to manage Open Table staff, volunteers and resources to achieve Open Table’s purpose and strategic directions in line with our organisational values. The CEO is responsible and accountable for:

  • Developing and achieving Open Table’s strategic plan in conjunction with the Board
  • Building Open Table’s reputation and profile
  • Managing Open Table’s operations
  • Financial management for the organisation including fundraising
  • Maintaining relationships with key and major stakeholders

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS MUST HAVE:

  • A minimum of three years’ senior management experience in a social enterprise or not-for-profit
  • Demonstrated people management skills with the ability to mentor and coach team members to perform to their best
  • Demonstrated ability to fundraise, including grant writing and gaining philanthropic support, in a not-for-profit organisational context
  • Experience coordinating and building strategic relationships
  • Innovative, flexible and adaptable with an ability to manage competing demands and embrace new challenges
