About the role
We are a leading disability service provider in NSW and the ACT, providing services and support for people with disabilities and their families and carers.
Northcott Therapy provides support to children, young people and adults with a range of disabilities including intellectual disability, physical disability, autism and global developmental delay.
Reporting to the Service Manager you will provide timely, evidence based and person centered therapy services to children and adults with a disability within a multidisciplinary team.
About you
- Genuine interest and commitment to the human services industry
- Previous NDIS related experience is desirable
- Demonstrated ability to manage a case-load in an efficient and effective manner
- Tertiary qualifications in allied health or relevant field (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, dietetics, psychology, nursing, social work etc..)
- Registration with AHPRA or relevant professional association
- Minimum 3 years experience delivery therapy services to children, young people and adults with a disability
- Advanced understanding of relevant assessment and interventions
- Current drivers license and willingness to drive
In this role you will
- Provide therapy services to children, young people, and adults with an autism spectrum disorders, intellectual, physical disabilities and other complex needs (under supervision as required).
- Work with the customers and families to identify customers strengths, skills and goals
- Identify barriers that may restrict the customers physical, emotional, cognitive and/or social development, well-being or participation.
- Use appropriate assessment tools and methods to assess strengths, skills and areas of development in collaboration with the customer
- Analyse and interpret assessment findings and customers priorities to develop appropriate interventions in collaboration with other team members
- Provide center and community based therapy interventions addressing the customers needs. These may be delivered on and individual, group or consultative basis
- Provide ongoing evaluation of therapy interventions and customer priorities and adapt intervention accordingly.
