The role

Reporting to the COO, this exiting newly created standalone role will allow you the creativity to own the strategy to develop, implement and maintain a newly created HR function. Supporting the senior leadership team, you will take full accountability for all areas of HR including the employee lifecycle, culture, performance management, compliance, policy, procedures, employee engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR policies, processes, and procedures aligned with best practices.
  • Review existing policies and implement new ones for Diversity and Inclusion, with a focus on First Nations people
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, ensuring a seamless experience for candidates.
  • Oversee employee onboarding, offboarding, and benefits administration.
  • Provide guidance on relevant compliance requirements, fostering a safe and inclusive workplace.
  • Lead HR projects focused on employee engagement and well-being, including employee engagement surveys
  • Coordinate programs to support employees returning to work and maintain a healthy work environment.
  • Conduct training sessions and handle various HR administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop customised HR strategies.
  • Foster a positive organisational culture and provide support to leaders, being that true trusted advisor to the group
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in HR practices.

Requirements:

Essentially you are degree qualified with a demonstrated background in setting up HR functions within a medium size organisation. Critical is you have worked in standalone role and ideally have a demonstrated background within the Arts.

How ever, if you a supporter of the arts and thrive on being able to make meaningful impact to an organisation by building a new HR function then you will love this role. You must have a good mix of strategy and execution with great vision to drive culture and employee engagement within a very young passionate group of individuals.
