Summary

We are looking for experienced Support Workers to join our team on the Gold Coast to grow our NDIS services in the community. We offer part-time permanent employment. With our clients, their families, and their supports network, you and your Neighbourhood Care team will work collaboratively to support and assist in achieving the person’s goals. You will be working in a self-managing team. Experience in working with people who have acquired brain injury or mental health issues is preferred.

Responsibilities

Your day-to-day tasks as a Support Worker will vary depending on the individual’s needs. A typical shift may involve assisting someone get ready for the day (including personal care and administering medications), doing some housework, going out with friends or to work, and getting to know them better as a person. Aside from your work as a Support Worker you are a team member in a self-managing team. This means you will also be performing team tasks.  

About you

You are an enthusiastic individual who is excited to provide care and support to people in the comfort of their own home and likes working collaboratively in a small self-managing team. 

You have a passion for working with people receiving services in our neighbourhoods and want to explore new developments in-home care and support.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated commitment to human rights-based, person-centred support practices
  • Demonstrated commitment to positive behaviour support practices
  • Can remain calm when faced with inappropriate or challenging behaviour
  • Resilient & positive outlook
  • Australian driver’s licence
  • Working with Children Card (Blue Card) with Yellow Card exemption
  • National Police Clearance (less than three months old)
  • Full Australian working rights
  • First Aid certificate (including CPR)
