The New South Wales Nurses and Midwives’ Association (NSWNMA) in association with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation New South Wales Branch (ANMF NSW Branch) seeks a Help Desk Support person to join our Business Services and Compliance Team on a permanent full-time basis.

In this role, you will provide Level 1 onsite technical support and advice for users of NSWNMA network and office systems, and assist with hardware and software installations and maintenance.

Under the direction of the Help Desk Team Leader, you will have the following responsibilities:

Level 1 IT Support

  • Provide support to end-users including telephone, face to face and remote advice and assistance.
  • Troubleshoot problems with network, laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, firmware and software.
  • Assist with the upgrading and replacement of existing software and hardware.
  • Assist in the installation and support of desktop PCs, iPhones, iPads and laptops.
  • Assist with the maintenance and support of equipment and software, including computers, printers and photocopiers.
  • Assist in configuring network and office systems.
  • Provide support for Association staff in the efficient use of the Association’s information technology, including the production of user guides.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the intranet.

Events and Meetings Support

  • Provide support and assistance with video conferencing equipment, conference room PA and Association video projectors.
  • Provide Help Desk support during Association events such as Annual Conference and Committee of Delegates.

Administration

  • Log, manage and own incidents end to end through our Service Desk ticketing system.
  • Contribute to the accurate maintenance of the asset database.
  • Document systems and processes as required.

To be considered for this role you require:

  1. Demonstrated experience (3 – 5 years) providing technical support
  2. Excellent communications skills (oral and written) with ability to communicate with staff at all levels
  3. Proven commitment to help people and provide excellent customer service
  4. Technical and problem solving aptitude
  5. A can-do attitude with the ability to work under pressure
  6. Passionate about IT with desire to learn and develop skills
  7. Relevant qualifications in IT hardware and software support or equivalent experience
  8. Commitment to the trade union movement
