Supervisor - Café and Cultural Catering Service

The Community Food Program sits within the Healthy Communities service, which focuses on promoting health and wellbeing and improving the social and environmental influences of health for our staff, clients and local community

The Community Food Program manages the NRCH Café (Meeting Place) and Cultural Catering social enterprise. The Cultural Catering program employs and supports training and education for Richmond Housing Estate residents and local community members. The program objectives include the provision of delicious, affordable, healthy and culturally relevant food within a catering service that is financial stable.

This position is responsible for managing day-to-day operations of NRCH café and Cultural Catering program, supporting training for community members, and ensuring the provision of affordable, healthy and culturally relevant food within a catering service that is financially stable.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Supervises the Café and Cultural Catering service to ensure the delivery of efficient, effective, quality retail operations Ensure OHS, Food Safe Programs and relevant procedures
  • Monitor stock level, order produce and food items to meet catering demand, and process invoices in a timely manner
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, customers and staff at all levels in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Handle cash and credit card transactions, and conducts weekly cash summaries.
  • Oversee the correct implementation of Café and Kitchen checklists, cleaning, and maintenance.
  • Menu planning as a team for Catering and Café service

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential qualifications, attributes and skills include, but are not limited to:

  • Barista and Cook training
  • Food Safety Handling Certificate
  • Experience in hospitality and working independently.
  • Knowledge of Safe Food Handling
  • High literacy and numeracy skills
  • Friendly, professional manner
  • Able to work independently
  • Excellent time management

Please note it is a requirement for all employees of North Richmond Community Health to demonstrate evidence of mandatory immunisations/vaccinations, including 3 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and annual flu vaccine, prior to commencement of employment, based on the Immunisation Category this position falls under.
