What you’ll be doing

This exciting role is in our high-performing and dynamic Medical Content and Education team. This team is responsible for contributing to our national educational visiting programs, developing web-based information and online education, and we also work with other teams to prepare scientific papers, media stories and technical reports.

What you will need

  • A minimum of two years of experience as a medical/science communication writer.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a science or health-related field.
  • Demonstrated skills in synthesising health-related information with in depth understanding of evidence-based medicine and an ability to interpret clinical study results.
  • Strong verbal communication skills to discuss the evidence about medicines and therapeutics relating to draft publications with clinical experts.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated capability to search the medical and pharmaceutical literature rigorously using common databases and best-practice methods.

Role Desirables

  • Understanding of quality use of medicines and medical tests, preferably within the Australian health system context.
  • Experience writing online continuing education for primary health care professionals.
  • Experience in commercial, government or not-for-profit sectors.
