Neighbourhood Houses Victoria is the peak body for Neighbourhood Houses across the state and is committed to maintaining strong and productive relationships with all of our members. The membership is evenly divided between metropolitan based Neighbourhood Houses and Rural/Regional Neighbourhood Houses. In 2016 approximately 188,700 Victorians visited their local Neighbourhood House in an average week.
NHVic provides strategic leadership for Neighbourhood Houses. We support members through effective state-wide advocacy, research including the implementation and analysis of an annual Neighbourhood House Survey, advice on relevant policy and legislative developments and stakeholder engagement.
The current membership reflects more than 90% of all Victorian Neighbourhood Houses. Our members are known by various names but the underlying principle for all is a commitment to community development practice and values. We are seeking an Chief Executive Officer to lead this organisation in an important time of change. The role is responsible for the ongoing strategic vision of the sector and will advocate on its behalf. The successful applicant will lead the small, committed staff team based in the Docklands.
Salary is in accordance with Neighbourhood Houses & ACE Centres Collective Agreement 2016. This position is full time with a 6 month probation period. The Salary will be in accordance with NHACE Collective Agreement (SCHCADS Award)
