The Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA) is an international NGO promoting the global transition to a diverse, sustainable and profitable energy economy. IEEFA examines issues related to energy markets, trends, and policies.
Combining high-level financial analysis and in-depth understanding of energy economics, IEEFA supports action strategies that address climate change and energy poverty, whilst highlighting how the current energy transition makes financial sense for everyone—financial institutions, governments, regulators, corporations, and ratepayers. Due to rapid growth within the Australian team, IEEFA has established a new Australian registered not-for-profit affiliate entity, IEEFA Australia.
Reporting to the US-based Executive Director and the Australian Board, The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) provides leadership, research program, communications and organisational oversight. The CEO is responsible for the strategic and business requirements of IEEFA Australia, including management of operations and resources, financial oversight, and staff management.
You will work with an excellent group of energy and finance experts to create and execute a dynamic research agenda that responds to day-to-day events and charts a course of long-term institutional change.
The CEO is also a spokesperson and representative for the organisation and develops and maintains partnerships with funding and partner organisations including financial supporters, investment and industry contacts, government, media, and other diverse external stakeholders.
You are a subject matter expert in financial and energy issues related to the fossil fuel and renewable energy industries and you understand how marginalised communities are affected by fossil fuels and climate change. Your technical and analytical expertise is complemented by your strong cross-functional leadership experience and the proven ability to build capacity in high-performing specialist teams including research, analysts, and communications staff.
You have demonstrated your commitment to addressing climate change through your senior-level leadership experience gained in a non-profit or similar organisation. You are a skilled networker, with exceptional interpersonal skills, and with stakeholder management experience across IEEFA’s partner groups.
If you share IEEFA’s mission to accelerate the transition to a diverse, sustainable and profitable energy economy, and you can demonstrate the skills and experience required, please apply by forwarding your cover letter and resume responding to the skills required to and quoting # 862582, or call Lois Freeke in confidence on 03 8080 8976.
Please note there is no formal closing date for this role, if you are interested we would encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
