The Organisation

The Australian Indigenous Education Foundation (AIEF) is a dynamic organisation dedicated to empowering Indigenous students by providing scholarship funding and career support to help them complete Year 12 or tertiary studies.

Established in 2008, AIEF has grown exponentially and is now supporting over 1,200 young Indigenous individuals from more than 400 communities across Australia. AIEF’s mission is to bridge the education and employment gap for Indigenous Australians.

The Role

Reporting to the Pathways Manager you will play a pivotal role in assisting Indigenous students in their educational and career journeys, provide guidance, resources, and advocacy to help students and alumni overcome barriers and realise their full potential.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Build supportive relationships with scholarship students, alumni and mentor
  • Provide support through the delivery of events, activities and training sessions
  • Maintain close relationships with educational partners and AIEF stakeholders
  • Complete relevant administrative tasks required for program impact reporting
  • Provide accurate reports and maintenance of the CRM database

Skills Required

You have experience providing career advice, achieving successful employment outcomes, or delivering school-aged or young adults' programs. Additionally, you are personally committed to “Closing the Gap” through Indigenous education and employment.

Your skills and experience also include:

  • Knowledge and awareness of factors impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities
  • Strong communication and relationship/stakeholder engagement skills
  • Achieving KPIs and delivering positive program outcomes
  • High level accurate administrative skills

This position requires travel, including interstate and attending events outside of business hours.
