About the Role:

The Learning and Development Training Specialist provides expert advice and guidance to NDS pertaining to learning and development offerings, assists with the development of new assets either partial or end to end, reviews existing assets, and delivers and coordinates workshops both online and face to face on behalf of NDS.

Crucial to this is to ensure that are our offerings remain of high quality by ensuring that they are reviewed, maintained, and improved upon reflecting of the needs of the sector and upholding contemporary learning methods.

The Learning and Development Training Specialist also liaises with other internal stakeholders across states/territories in the organisation in order to give guidance and advice on learning and development related matters. Performing as an L&D subject matter expert to ensure NDS maintain and grow reputation and brand awareness in the learning and development space.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and coordinate an annual review roadmap of all NDS’s learning and development assets (eLearning and instructor led training), highlighting due dates, subject matter experts and external stakeholders (such as etrainu) associated with each asset, and when each asset was last reviewed and updated.
  • Coordinate any ad-hoc updates and releases as identified by internal and/or external stakeholders in accordance with strategic priorities.
  • Facilitate and or/co facilitate NDS L&D online and face to face workshop offerings as required.
  • Oversight of learning and development content creation and design phases.
  • Support the review and development, design and where required the delivery of learning solutions in relation to ad-hoc NDS state-based projects and NDS L&D projects.
  • Evaluate and report on qualitative and quantitative learner satisfaction data pertaining to all NDS L&D offerings (including partner offerings). Utilising metrics to measure effectiveness of training.
  • Monitor feedback from internal and external partners and stakeholders improve and create L&D offerings as identified by the sector.
  • Manage the execution of external workshops with nominated partners.
  • Work with the LEN to review and improve the Let’s Talk Disability Program.
  • Create and maintain a scheduled workshop calendar with support from Learning and Development and Marketing Executive, Let’s Talk Disability schedule and external partners workshop offerings.

Other Responsibilities (applicable for all NDS employees):

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by manager/supervisor from time to time.
  • Comply with NDS’s policies and procedures at all times, including (but not limited to) HR, Quality, Work Health & Safety (WHS), IT, Security, and Data Privacy.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience designing and managing L&D training, preferably within the community care sector.
  • Extensive knowledge of instructional design and learning principles.
  • Expert knowledge in the creation, delivery and evaluation of learning packages and outcomes.
  • Adequate knowledge of Learning Management software.
  • Familiarity with traditional training and modern training methods, tools and techniques.
  • Previous experience with cost-benefit analysis and calculating training ROI.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively maintain collaborative networks with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong relationship management and influencing skills, including the ability to interact at the Executive level.
  • Proficiency with the MS Office Suite and LMS platforms.
  • Willingness and capacity to travel.
  • A tertiary qualification in a related discipline and/or appropriate learning and development training and qualifications.
