Hawkesbury District Health Service is a teaching hospital in Windsor NSW, providing acute, community and allied health services for the local community and surrounding districts. The service provides 24-hour emergency, medical, surgical, diagnostic, maternity, neonatal, paediatric, palliative, intensive and coronary care services.

An exciting opportunity to join the Hawkesbury District Hospital Team as a Clinical Nurse Consultant (Grade 1) working Part-Time (4 days a week) within the Infection Prevention and Control Team.

The successful incumbent will work collaboratively to provide safe, compassionate, person-centred health care in collaboration with patients, families, carers and multidisciplinary teams.

Within in this role, you will provide leadership, advice and recommendations on all aspects of nursing/midwifery and consults on matters relating to the safe and appropriate use of nursing/midwifery practices.

Selection Criteria:

• Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse/Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and current NSW Driver’s License and willingness to use same as required for the position.
• Minimum five years full time equivalent post registration experience and post graduate qualifications in Infection Prevention and Control or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate.
• Evidence of consistent demonstration of behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation with all stakeholders including colleagues, direct reports, patients and consumers.
• Demonstrated clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing/midwifery practice.
• Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills across a variety of mediums and knowledge of the practice development framework to clinical practice.
• Demonstrated involvement in the development/change of clinical practice underpinned by evidence-based research
• Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic and clinical service planning
• Ability to apply clinical expertise in patient-centred consultancy, with the ability to work effectively both as a member of a multidisciplinary team and independently.
