POSITION CONTEXT
The Communications and Relationships Manager is a newly created position, reporting directly to the CEO. The position will sit within the Leadership Team of the organisation, together with the Senior Case Manager and CEO.
This position description outlines a range of duties, responsibilities and selection criteria.
While MCSC is fortunate to have a reliable source of funding through local, state and federal government and other key private funders, there is a growing need for MCSC to have access to a pool of non-committed funds. These funds are needed for critical services that government funding will not cover and will maintain our ability to deliver strong and independent advocacy.
As an iconic organic organisation with a strong supporter base, MCSC is well placed to diversify revenue away from a high reliance on government with greater annual contributions from philanthropy (e.g. major gifts, bequests, trusts & foundation grants) and fundraising (e.g. corporate fundraising, monthly donations, workplace giving). Well managed relationships with existing and new partners will be critical to our success in building these pathways.
Our 40th anniversary presents a unique opportunity to reconnect with MCSC supporters and build a stronger fundraising profile.
POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Communications and Relationships Manager will be responsible for the development, delivery and evaluation of a Fundraising Strategy at MCSC. They will develop relationships and partnerships to support the organisation’s fundraising outcomes, lead and/or coordinate activities that will enable MCSC to diversify its income sources and to build untagged funding to meet its fundraising goals.
