The Opportunity

This position will see working in local communities to ensure local jobseekers know where they can find information, advice and support in order to move into sustainable and meaningful employment. You will have a key focus on connecting with people in regular community settings including; libraries, community centres/hubs; public housing foyers; shopping centres; other community and specialist services; doorknocking and letterbox dropping where required.

Skills & Experience

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and previous community engagement experience and/or knowledge of best practice community engagement principles and practice;
• Demonstrated ability to understand and identify a range of client needs using a client-centred approach; capacity to deal sensitively and intelligently with difficult issues;
• Demonstrated experience engaging and communicating with diverse groups of people, tailoring communication to suit specific cohorts, including, but not limited to, young people and culturally and linguistically diverse communities;
• Ability to effectively plan and manage multiple tasks independently and as part of a team; and,
• Current and valid Victorian Driver’s Licence and Working With Children Check.
