We are seeking caring, enthusiastic and creative Recreational Therapy Assistants to complement our multi-disciplinary team in providing excellent individual and small group therapy that enhances our Residents’ quality of life at our Randwick Campus.

The Role:
You will be responsible for developing and implementing recreational activity and engagement programs for residents, ensuring integration of the Philosophy of Living values. The programs are to promote resident’s abilities, self-expression and socialisation, and are to meet their recreational, social, cultural, spiritual, physical and cognitive needs.
You will use a holistic approach to contribute to develop, implement, deliver and evaluate “best practice” programs specifically designed for residents within the home, in consultation with the wider recreational team.
Your Experience
- Previous experience in the delivery and effective implementation of leisure programs
- Creativity with ability and knowledge of and understanding of effective engagement for groups and individuals
- Creative and cognitive based skills to run effective and stimulating groups
- Understanding of the Jewish culture and community, or willingness to develop understanding
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Certificate IV in Leisure and Health or other suitable qualification would be considered (education that includes program planning, activity organising, event coordination)
- Life skills will be highly regarded
- Experience with aged care desirable or a keen interest to be involved in the industry
